Bouncing Baby Blob

Here's our little fathead! Apparently his head is almost too big to fit in the screen capture area in this photo from today's ultrasound. Mother and child are both doing very well. Baby weighs in at approximately 7 pounds, 12 ounces. The smaller version of the image shows the outline of the area that is supposed to be his wee head... as rendered by Picasso... but we sort of have to take the ultrasound tech's word on that.

The Math Doesn't Lie

Audrey's Height: 67"
Audrey's Width: 19"
Audrey's Depth: 22"

Audrey's Total Volume: 67" x 19" x 22" = 16.2 cubic feet.

Egad.

We're ready.
Audrey's much more ready than I am, but we're both ready.

Bar Food, Baby, and Big Ankles

Ahhhh, heat!
Ahhhh, TV!
Ahhhh, > 44ยบ!
Ahhhh, quesadillas!

We filled the cat food dishes, opened the toilets, and retreated to a nice, warm hotel room last night. A very special note of appreciation goes out to Russ Friedman, and my very kind and talented coworkers, Rob and Bill for helping us set that up and getting us a more-than-competitve rate for the room. Much appreciated.

Had an appointment to check on the baby yesterday afternoon, and eveything is proceeding according to plan. He's just hanging out, waiting for his turn. He and I spoke last night, and he says he's just biding his time, that he has the REAL plan. He wouldn't tell me what it is, though.

In an hyper-spastic fit of honesty, BG&E has informed us that we are pretty much LAST on their list of areas to be brought back onto the power grid. And when I say "informed us," I mean that I had to call and find that out, because they weren't going to tell us anything. Please hate them for us.

But seriously... It's funny how quesadillas and onion rings can make everything seem OK.

On another note, check out these gams:

Holey schlamoley!!!
Hey Fred Flintstone, what have you done with my wife?!?!
(these comments have been approved by Audrey... I'm not this mean... usually.) ;-)

Audrey was very sweet to me yesterday, and showered me with presents for my birthday. Thanks to our parents, Tom & Ginger and Roberto & Julia, and everyone else who sent warm wishes (no pun intended).
I'm sure a lucky guy!

Forty-Four... and falling...

The house is shut.
It is kept by those who are c-c-cold.
The house is shut.

Well, it's my birthday (I'm twenty-sixteen). And we woke up this morning to a balmy 44 degrees inside the house. How refreshing! But on the bright side... the power should be back on by Friday night. That's only about 36 hours from now, so we're in the home stretch! Took ourselves out to dinner last night at the local cozy Lone Star Steakhouse. Not so much for the food but for the warmth. Ended up being a blessing, as we had a very nice time together at our leisurely dinner, and then bundled up with the cats under lots of blankets for a long winter's nap. We expect tonight will be more of the same.

Special thanks to Tom and Ginger for the hand crank lantern. It served us well!

EVERYBODY PANIC!!!!

"Ice Capades 2007" has come and gone. Our yard looks like an Oreo McFlurry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McFlurry). No snow day today, but it's probably for the best since we had no power at home anyway.

No power = no fun staying home.

BG&E - purveyor of driveway holes - predicts power will be restored in 24 hours. That hole in our driveway was supposed to fix this little problem.

(Then he gets smacked for getting in the crib.)

Thank you BG&E!

This AWESOME new hole in my driveway PERFECTLY matches the holes in your customer service plan.
